Top Hotels Near Wall Street: Where To Stay in the Financial District

Wall Street is synonymous with finance but this eight-block street within Lower Manhattan’s Financial District is anchored by more than buildings of commerce. It’s adjacent to several hotels with a variety of amenities, accommodations and pricing levels.

Many of these properties near Wall Street belong to well-known hotel brands while some are independently owned boutiques. However, they are all based within walking distance to subway stations, attractions, or restaurants near Wall Street or throughout Lower Manhattan.

1. The Wall Street Hotel

Best for: Business travelers and families

Housed within the landmark Tontine Building, this luxury property holds 180 guest rooms ranging in size from 300 to 800 square feet and offering four types of suites, along with a number of connecting room options. 

Operated by the Australian family-owned Paspaley Pearling Group, The Wall Street Hotel combines New York sophistication with a laid-back Australian vibe (just check out the Instagram-worthy lobby in the featured photo above). It’s complemented by a contemporary Australian Aboriginal art collection on view through a partnership with the APY Art Centre Collective. 

Three dining options — Lounge on Pearl, La Marchande, and Bar Tontine —make it a great spot to work remotely or hold business meetings. The Lounge on Pearl also hosts an afternoon tea experience, complete with a “Petite Pearl” children’s menu. 

This hotel is also dog-friendly, including in-room pet amenities like a doggy bed, toys, and a water bowl. 

Fun fact: The building stands upon what was once the site of the Tontine Coffee House, built in 1793 by stockholders as a meeting place to trade and an early location of the New York Stock Exchange

This 81-room hotel is a five-minute walk from Wall Street and is also close to the Whitehall Street and South Ferry subway stations. Along with an on-site restaurant, the Hampton Inn Manhattan/Downtown-Financial District has a fitness center. 

A good note for those traveling with kids, furry or otherwise, some rooms can be connected and are pet-friendly.

3. Hyatt Centric Wall Street New York

Best for: Proximity to Wall Street and subway stations, some rooms with Lower Manhattan views

The Hyatt Centric Wall Street New York offers 235 loft-style guest rooms that can be quite spacious with 12-foot ceilings, walk-in rain showers, hardwood floors, and oversized windows overlooking Lower Manhattan. Suite categories come with soaking tubs and additional space for balancing work and play.

For dining, the Wall & Water restaurant offers a buffet with selections made with New York sourced ingredients. 

Note: The hotel’s website lists a second restaurant, called Centric Bar & Grill, that is currently closed. Check with the property staff directly for updates.

Roughly a seven-minute walk to Wall Street, Gild Hall, A Thompson Hotel, reflects pure elegance, starting within its majestic lobby and continuing with its stylish guestrooms. Photography fans will spot works by Slim Aarons.

This DoubleTree by Hilton property is about a five-minute walk from the Charging Bull statue and Fraunces Tavern plus it’s not too far from the Bowling Green subway station. 

This Hilton brand is often noted for their famous chocolate chip cookies, but the DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown location also has Antica Ristorante. This upscale Italian restaurant offers delightful tableside presentations involving antipastas and pastas. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served here daily. Self-parking is offered with a daily fee, and there’s also an on-site fitness center. Some pet-friendly and connecting rooms are available.
